The Train Express Regional "TER" is a mass transit system launched less than a year ago to provide a link between Dakar the capital of Senegal and Diamniadio a new industrial city built 40 kilometers (25 miles) away. The Regional Express railway system consists of 6 trains that carry 115,000 passengers daily at a top speed of 160 km/h. I was recently given a rare opportunity to capture some drone footage of the high speed train WHILE BEING ONBOARD throughout the entire journey. Of course their were multiple risks involved with the mission including losing signal of the drone mid-flight, having to perform an emergency landing somewhere safe due to a low battery output or even worse crashing into one of the power lines crossing the rail tracks. But as the saying goes "there is no reward in life without risk." The once in a lifetime opportunity to leave a mark in history as The First FPV Drone Pilot to film The First Bullet Train in West Africa was all the motivation I needed to put my fear of losing an expensive piece of equipment aside and Just do it.✔️ Enjoy the beautiful scenery of a country striding confidently towards the future.
